Steering gear box

Working on 85 c10. Steering gear is pouring fluid. I have two options. Take it apart and rebuild or spend the extra money and replace.

My questions for you guys are:

Has anyone out there ever rebuilt one?
Problems dealing with those ball bearings?
Is it worth the trouble to rebuild or should I just replace it?

Thanks
Jeff
