250I6 swap to 283V8

Finally swapping my son's 1963 C10 -- I6 to a V8...

The I6 currently in the truck is a 250ci(not the original motor), it has a TH350 trans.

Any advance info or advice will be greatly appreciated.

I've read that the I6 motor mount has 3 pieces and if you remove the center piece, it will bolt up directly to the V8, with no need to buy new motor mounts. Is this correct?

Will the trans have to be moved forward or back, or will it remain in the same position? I'm just wanted to know whether or not we'll need to end up having the driveshaft lengthened/shortened.

Is there anything else that I need to be aware of, or on the look out for during the swap?

thanks
