New to board--Neutral-Safety/BU light question

Hey guys, I've really been helped out by reading this board for a while.

I'm in Northport, AL, and I have a 68 C-10 swb, 350 4-bolt, TH400. When I bought the truck, the backup lights weren't hooked up. I bought a NS/BU switch at Advance, and I found what I think is the place to install it on the column (at the base near the firewall). However, it's not obvious to me how to mount this thing, get it matched up with the shifter, and get it wired.

Anyone have any experience in this area?

Thanks in advance.
