I believe the weather strip accepts a black or a chrome locking strip. I don't think they make a windshield seal that does not use a locking strip (for the front windshield). Back windows are different.


The locking strip is easy to install if you have the tool. A glass shop should be able to do this in their sleep. I did one a week ago in about 30 minutes and I do only 1 a year, maybe.

If your truck has chrome moldings already then go for chrome. The last one cost me $25 CDN so they are not expensive.
