Dead battery ignition switch question

Ok before I panic and have to delve into wiring grounding issues ... We put a new full rubber floor mat in my K20, used to just be a steel floor with a couple of mats tossed on top.

There are several extra wires that have been sort of just out there in the wind, so to speak lol, that are now covered by the mat.

My nephew parked it in the garage for me and when I went to start it up nothing happens, really dead. One thing I noticed is that the ignition was on accessory when I put the key in. I had no idea you could pull the key on accessory mode. Could the fact it sat on accessory for a week have caused the draw? Or do I need to pull the mat and double check the wires that were once loose but now made stationary due to the mat holding them down?
