Finished wood bed
Finished replacing the wood on my bed. I bought a pine wood kit from classic parts. It came milled. I burned the wood grain. Sanded with 220 and gave it 3 coats of spar urethane. A friend gave me the idea to paint the bottom with high heat paint like the one you use on bbq's and stuff. seems to hold up well with all the sliding around the sills and stuff. I painted the strips with rustoleum flat black but didn't really like it and gave it a couple coats of gloss clear. A buddy of mine did his bed with the bed to frame bolts hidden so I followed what he did. Did not remove the bed as I didn't have the space for it. It wasn't to bad. Had my wife hold down the bolts to start the nuts on them then I tightened them all. I really liked the way it came out.
