Re: 1967 shorty or long bed ?

It says M20 on the SPID, but that's where it gets funny. Muncie built truck and car transmissions and for some reason they named two transmissions M20. Your truck had a different M20. It was a granny tranny. The car 4spd are just that, never avilable in a truck. But it's cool your SPID "appears" to show the M20 car trans is original.

I'm one that it matters to. I wouldn't pay a lot more than if it was still the original LWB. Because I'll do the conversion myself if that's what I want. I can't make a factory short bed, so I'd pay more because they were lower priduction. That's how it always worked with classics in my experience. I am a truck guy who does his own stuff. I don't pay big bucks for someone else's work when it's what I like to do. That's half of what it's about. So, if I ponied up for a true (meaning factory) and found out it wasn't, I'd be very upset. If it wasn't misrepresented, than shame on me.

Owning isn't a hobby, building them is. People sitting at classic car auctions with a ton of cash for turn-key are just owners.
