Skid Plates for GMC? 4x4 or 2wd...

I think I saw somewhere on here that GMC's had a skid plate under the radiator. Is that right?
And if they do, was it '60-'62 torsion-bar tucks, '63-66 trucks, 1/2-ton or 3/4-ton and heavier?
Did they have any for 4x4 trucks?
I'm going to start a '62 K10 next spring, and would like to put any factory heavy-duty parts on it.

There's a GMC 1-ton (knee-knocker cab, but don't know the year) in the bone yard with dual wheels, and another '61 C-40 Chevy flat bed in the same yard. Would either of them have the skid plate I saw here?
