Talk to me about lowering my 3/4 ton Suburban.
I have had my Suburban for a little over 4 years now.
I have already swapped a 6.0/4L80 into it last year. I have always had in the back of my mind that I would like to lower it and put a nice set of wheels on it. I never found a set of wheels I liked though, until now. I fell in love with the Detroit steel artillery wheel. It is not easy finding parts to lower a 3/4 ton Suburban, but after looking, Western Chassis looks like they can sell me spindles, coil springs, new rear leafs, and rear leaf shackles that will drop my Suburban about 5 1/2 inches in the front and 5 inches in the rear. The wheels are not available in 8 lug, so I would have to get adapters, which are going to be 2" thick. They offer different offsets so I should be able to overcome the extra 2" by getting the offset correct. I haven't decided on 22" or 20" wheels yet, and would like to get opinions on what wheel size would be best. I am worried that about 5" of drop on a 3/4 ton will not be that low and may sit only slightly lower than a stock 1/2 ton. does anyone have pics of a suburban with a 5" drop? any opinions or suggestions?
