Question Brake booster: 1/2 to 3/4 ton

Sometime ago, one of our board members mentioned he had solved a problem (can't remember precisely) by replacing the original 1/2-ton brake booster with a 3/4-ton booster. My truck has a rebuilt Delco booster, with all new brake hardware, but the pedal effort is still sort of between manual and power brakes. My question is, will the 3/4-ton booster bolt right in, and will it decrease pedal effort? My engine idles at about 14" Hg, though I have not seen this vacuum level to be a problem on past projects. The parts stores list only one replacement part # for the 3/4-ton truck booster, but it sure looks like a larger, yet still bolt-on version of the Delco 1/2-ton unit. Anybody had any experience with this? Thanks!
