Distributor whine.

Is this a phenomenon any of you have experienced? An unfortunate sequence of events led to my heater feed line bursting on the way home the other night, and absolutely DRENCHING the engine bay in coolant. Fun times.

Got the heater hoses replaced after limping it home. Thank every god ever that it waited to happen until I was two blocks from the house. Noticed the next day that my distributor cap has a ton of condensation in it, so popped it off and cleaned it yesterday. Moisture is back today, so I'm thinking my coolant geyser event sprayed it enough that a bunch of it got in and leaked its way down the shaft, making it sticky in there, hence the whine/squeal.

Thoughts?
