crossover steering pitman arm
Gents,
Working on my '76 project (in my sig) and I'm using- -new 80+ steering box(o-ring fittings) from redhead. New sector I believe. -Jeep TJ pitman arm(new) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -GM 1-ton TREs (ES2234R&L) I reamed the pitman to accept the TREs and I went to install the pitman to the box and it doesn't fit. The spline diameter of the pitman is too small for the box. The count is the same, and the 4 index teeth seem correct, just the entire broached female spline is too small by around 1/16-3/32" measured with a tape measure and compared to a stock 2wd pitman. Everything I researched said the TJ arm would fit, but it does not. I've already built all my suspension and steering around this pitman, ofcourse I should have test fit it alot sooner but o-well. Too late, time to find something else. Does anyone have any ideas on what pitman I can use that is the same size as the TJ but fits the steering box? Obviously I can ream the taper for the TRE if it isn't correct. The TJ pitman is about 1 9/16 drop and 5-15/32"(1/2") c-c. See attached snips. I appreciate any info, thanks!
