Fuel gauge calibration

Not sure if it is actually calibration, but I set the fuel sender float, and fuel sender depth so the fuel gauge reads a little above empty with 1.5 gallons of gas in the tank.

Should I have set it up with 2 gallons in the tank?

I doubt it will ever get below a 1/4 tank before I fill up.

Just wondering how everyone is setting theirs up.
