1971 C10 First Project

Hello Everyone
As a late 17th birthday present, my father purchased a white 1971 C10 project truck for my twin brother and I. It had belonged to a very old man since 1989, and he had died suddenly of a heart attack. He had two very similar trucks, and he was using the other one, which was red, as a parts truck. His son, who we bought the truck from wanted to keep the red one, and he was going to scrap the white one. The trucks were being kept at a mutual friends property, and my dad heard the story and offered to beat the scrapyards price on the white truck. He got it for $250. Upon taking it back to our house, he discovered that it started right up. However it was very ugly. It needs a lot of sheet metal work. The floorpans, cab supports, rocker panels and many other various spots were quite cancerous. So the sheet metal work began. I will post pictures sometime later. I have already cut out the front floorpans, and am preparing to weld in new ones.
