Pulling Engine and Transmission Together Advice
Hi guys,
I appreciate everyone's help, but I don't need advice from the people that don't remove the engine and transmission together and feel like giving a lecture. I'm looking for advice from the people that do remove them together. I'm ready to pull my old 327 and I'm pulling the engine and tranny together. I have a 327 large journal and an NP435 (Chrysler Corporation's 4 speed with a granny gear). The cover on the NP435 is REALLY tall. I can't seem to get the cover off and my buddy said we could just drop the cross-member and it'll clear, but I was looking at it last night and the cross-member is riveted, not bolted. I realize that a picture would be extremely helpful here; however, I forgot to grab one before I left the house today. Does anyone know how to get the NP435 cover off or how to make it clear the firewall when pulling it while it's attached to the engine? Or is this plan hosed and I'll need to disconnect the two? Thanks for your help!
