What makes a truck more sellable/valuable

I have a 86 chevy 2wd shortbed that i am putting together as kind of a fun project to keep for a little while and eventually to sell and get rid of some extra parts. Right now it needs a little bodywork and paint. It has no motor or trans right now.

Trying to figure out if i should put it together like a stock driver or more of a performance truck. I have the stuff to do both.

I have a everything to do a tbi injected 350 with vortec heads and a lt1 roller cam with a custom prom to match. It ran dang good in a 1992 extended cab 4x4 but sounds stock as a rock.

Or rebuild the stock 86 350 with the tbi setup or a carb.

Or a 350 with a fairly lumpy hydraulic roller cam, performer rpm air gap and vortec heads. Probably would run a th350 with a 2000 stall with this one. Definitely the most fun option, but the parts id rather keep.

I have some 700r4 parts but i hate building those. I can do a th350 in my sleep.

And then i really dont know what color to paint it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated

Lynn
