2018 L83/4L80E Swap In Progress

Hey guys, just picked up a 2018 L83 and 6L80E drop out with 12000 miles. I have some general questions in regards to this set up and maybe someone could point me in the right direction. I know that I need to get the brackets to retrofit mechanical power steering pump etc... My initial question is:

1. The pedal assembly has the pedal and brake all together on the same bracket. There is not a connection on the harness that routes and connect to the pedal assembly plugs. Can I wire from pedal directly to harness if I can locate the connector? Can I ditch the brake pedal or is there a reason they are in combination?

2. Are there any DIY or HOW TOs? for L83 engine harness reworks to stand alone.

3. Are there supposed to be open or unused slots under the fuse block?
