Stock shock length

My ‘68 C10 has replacement HD (variable rate) rear coils from Eaton Detroit Spring. The rear suspension is entirely OE or stock replacement parts. I bought Monroe 32301 shocks and below is a pic of how far they can extend beyond the lower mounts when the pickup is unloaded. Shouldn’t it have more travel beyond it’s resting position? The next question is “How much?”

Anyone have recommendations for a better shock for this application (longer reach)? Where can I shop for shocks by their specs and not their applications?
