292 engine removal, what am i missing

Ive got all the motor mount, bell housing and flywheel bolts out, but we cant seem to pry the 292 apart more than half an inch. Weve tried lifting it up some with the hoist, dropping it down, pulling etc.

4 spd manual. it was in gear so i bumped it out into neutral (clutch lever was already disengaged). Still not budging.

What am I missing? I was planning on leaving the tranny in. Thanks
