i run 28" diameter P235/70R15 with 4.5 backspace.
had to modify the spare carrier 3 ways:
1) move spare out 1/2", i had drilled and lightened plate steel
2) drill above plate to handle 5 lug rims
3) shorten top arms to allow for tonneau cover to lap over bed side

not to mention:
4) modify mirror to look past spare
