My Truck Hates Hills.

My wifes friend is buying a house right around the corner from us. I was out running around doing errands today and thought I'd go check it out on my way home.

This house is at the top of the hill. With a long very steep driveway. VERY STEEP!

So I drive up the driveway and when I get to the top. My truck totally stalls out.
My truck is really very dependable. So I'm confused. It will start but it immediately dies.

Now I've got to get back down the hill. It's a common driveway with several other houses and I'm blocking it. I have a dead truck with power steering and power brakes that no longer work.

The driveway is too narrow to turn around so I put it in neutral and cross my fingers as I roll backwards trying not to hit anything. I did run over a couple of rocks (I hope they were rocks) and I didn't land in anyone's front yard.But it was a bumpy ride.

Once I got it on flat ground it started right up. Ran fine. I assume it might be the fuel pump? The carburetor wasn't getting gas at that angle I had it on?

I'm not sure. But I'm not using my truck to help my wifes friend move. It's a good excuse.
