PCV valves

Hi there.
I've started looking into what needs improving / fixing on my 1975. One thing that I've noticed is that BOTH covers have PCV valves which then link up and are fed into the carb. I have been advised to have a breather one side and a PCV on the other. Are there any negative effects of running two PCV's that I should look for and might have to address?
