Time for a divorce (t-case)
I was talking to my buddy Livrat about my Blurb project and what I wanted to do for power. One thing I have is a TCI built TH400 that I never used. I was asking him how much work to convert the 2wheel drive trans to a 4x4 trans that would bolt up to a 205.
He told me about the Mopar and IH 205's (sorry forgot the years he told me would work, paper is out in the shop) that hang off the cross member and doing it that way I could pretty much run any trans I want, just need a small coupling shaft. And if I mount it in such a way that the 205 is centered so front and rear drive shafts are exactly the same it sort of gives me a spare drive shaft if something breaks. So you guys that have done this how have you worked your 205 shifting needs since its not in the stock location anymore. Is this a big deal I'm going to have to figure out, or once its in will be self explanatory? Ill be running buckets and a console (as of now haha) so Id really love it if my shifter comes out real close to the stock location. I actually joined Pirate4x4 because in one of my searches here they mentioned Pirate had a bunch of info on 205's. I didn't see it in a quick search over there, and I was feeling bad for going somewhere besides this board for my truck needs haha!
