Speedometer noise

This winter, I started to hear a noise from the speedometer. Kind of a chirping buzz sound that varied with speed. I attributed it to cold as it seemed to go away after the cab got good and warm. Well, it is now making the noise all the time and it seems to be louder. And it is no longer cold. The speedometer has been working without jumping around even though is is making that chirping sound.

Well, today on a couple of occcasions, the chirp turned into louder constant buzz and the speedo needle would jump up to 90, down to 20 then the buzz would stop and it would settle back in at 60 mph with the chirp sound. A few years ago I replaced the speedo cable. I’m thinking this is more of a problem with the speedometer. What do you guys think?
