1967 short fleet rescue
I had an opportunity to buy a neglected 1967 swb back in the summer. It was just a body with only the hood and radiator support in the bed. I brought it home and, for those that know me, immediately installed white walls and hubcaps! I also dropped in a 67 model 250 L6 and Powerglide (truck was originally 6 cyl, 3 speed). I searched and searched for front fenders and ended up driving 2 hours one way to get a nice set of red ones. I didn't want to do a full blown paint job on the truck, so I bought a few cans of dark hunter green spray paint and shot the front fenders, then lightly sanded to expose the red paint underneath. It looked OK from a far distance, but the different colored greens were getting to me. At this point I made the decision (unpopular to some, I'm sure) to spray bomb the whole truck. I wet sanded the paint and, like on the fenders, sanded through to expose the red oxide primer underneath.
