Time to clean up the 283 V-8
I'm in the (slow) process of detailing my old '66. Let's see now, original V-8, 283, that makes like, 57 years of caked on grease, oil, and farmer wiring repairs. I am wanting to do all this without any major removals or upgrades, just cleaning.
I'm cleaning up the wiring, replacing only what is necessary, hoses, firewall and the engine itself. I've done some of my oldies before, just take my time, (I'm old and retired), it's amazing where you can reach with a screwdriver or a stick and with steel wool. I'll clean or maybe even paint the firewall, valve covers, oil breather, etc. Looks like the valve covers were originally dark grey or maybe even blue? Any help here? |
