I did similar things to my 69 back in the first couple years after I got it in 1989.

Dual exhaust with generic turbo mufflers got rid of that choked down, restricted feeling, and gave the 307 some guts. Honestly, it felt like it had 25% more power.

Power steering parts from a wrecked 71-72 truck, made a huge difference. My teenage daughter loved it!

I later installed a NOS 450cfm Holley Economizer carb on Q-jet manifold (total investment of around $65). The results made me think twice before ever bad-mouthing a 307 again!

I converted to Power brakes before ultimately going to disc brakes from a 85 C10 several years later.

Have fun!

1969 C10 (not the current one) that I bought in the early 1980s. Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming.
Retired as a factory automation products salesman.
Worked part-time over the years for an engine builder and a classic car repair shop.
