Question 79 Blazer Fender Emblem Installation Moral Dilemma

Just ordered in two new K5 Blazer emblems for LMC and I plan on installing them. Thing is the guy who redid the fenders on my truck filled in the holes and painted over both front and back so I have no idea where the holes are. The new emblems I got have two studs on them. I was thinking maybe grinding off the 2 studs and using 3M double sided adhesive to just paste them on, but I'm not sure if this is better than drilling two new holes and then pasting them on.

Honestly I don't wanna mess with barrel nuts because I don't wanna take off the inner fender. Either way I'm gonna use some adhesive. Question is to drill two holes or to grind two studs....
