68 Windshield install with Stainless Trim in TX

Looking to have a new windshield put in my son's 68 for Christmas. He's got the stainless trim on his truck. I ordered a Precision Gasket from GMC Pauls...curious about a few things.

1. Anyone have any suggestions for an installer neat Denison, TX.
2. Should I be trying to source my own glass?
3. His truck is not restored...just a good old fashioned 56 year old truck. Should we be trying to remove the glass ourselves and clean up trim, check for rust, re-paint jambs. This is all new to me and it seems like with the age of this truck odds of everything being perfect and not needing any attention is slim and none.
