I think I'm hosed on hub removal
I was trying to pull the front hub lockouts on a mid 80's Blazer with a 10 bolt axle. I think I am screwed.
How do I remove the hub retaining ring that is inside the ID of the front hub. It is a wire loop that is just inside the ID of the front hub after you pull the covers off. The shop manual says this ring should have two ears that would allow you to compress the retainer with some pliers and remove it. The ears on this retaining ring are missing. Any ideas on how to remove this? I could probably leave the ring in and attach a slide hammer to the lockouts but that would probably destroy the lockouts. Any ideas? |
