HELP, my truck is stuck in 4 wheel drive!!

i have a 69 1/2 ton chevy, 4 speed/rockwell that is stuck in 4 wheel drive, the shifter shifts to where 2 high should be, but the front drive shaft is turning, and it makes a funny, not quite in, sound. The truck has the stock original lock-outs, that are a little hard to turn, but still seem to function.

i have tried nothing, i figured i would ask here first

thanks guys, this one has me baffled.
