I dobut a bumper can help or hurt traction that much .. althou i did notice my 85 raise up after removing the bumper tailgate and chainbox.

One thing about having a bumper Vs roll pan is if someone isnt payin attention and looks up and everyons stopping but them the bumper will get messed up depending on how fast they were going that may be it

if you have a roll pan hmm rear bed crunched tailgate roll pan all could be damaged ,

I like roll pans too but i also like bumpers for looks and function.
