One piece windows, who got them in their truck????
I am thinking about installing the one piece window kit. I was wondering if anyone has done this modification and how hard it was to finish?

There's a few guys here that have done it,, Get with XXL,(Kenneth) here or over at Myoldtruck.com. He has them and is happy with them. Other then that, I have heard that you need good regulators, and window welting.. Personally I like them....

I had a '58 beetle with 1 piece windows & they went in real nice. I plan on putting them in my 67 gm. Makes it a lot harder to break into. I talked to a couple guys at a car show had them , they said their kits came with everything & installation wasn't too bad. One detail I noticed was the window opening on the door narrows where the old vent window would go. But then I'm always picking apart little things like that.

I think his screen name is Pont? He has a killer lifted SWB 4x4. Blue and silver I think. He has 1 piece windows and answered some questions about them awhile back.
Send him a PM.

Thanks Tx Firefighter.
Yep, I've got the one piece door glass and power window regulators on my truck. Install is not that difficult, I would allow yourself a couple hours from start to finish. Here's a couple pics of mine....

I like those one peice windows ALOT! I feel that was the only mod i wanted to do but was unable to do right now and i'm sure i will regret it until i have them. Another nice feature of the one peice window is that you have more freedom in side mirror choices. I originally bought some cool sport mirrors for my truck but found that it would be impossible to install them with the vetn windows.
I know ece sells them and i think its about $400 for the kit and then another $400 for the power regulators...... thats the reason i held off on buying them right now. If anyone knows a place to get a MUCH better price ... let me know. |

I have the kit in my room I got it from Tim Christian. I have not installed it yet. I hope to have the truck painted in the next 2-3 weeks. The window kit will be one of the frist things to go in. There are going to be some issues with the door check It shows in the instructions to grind the round edge back. If not the window can get caught on it when being rolled down. And there have been some people who did not like the play in the window when it was part was open. Also it works good with original doors. I think LOW68 instaslled the kit in his truck and he had one repo door and the kit did not work very well in that door.. If you do a search you will come up with a bunch of opinions.
