A years pay isn't much... not talkin numbers here, but there's plenty of chevys sold worth more.

French...I've looked in the red book, GM's restoration catalogs (which is a reprint of the avalible options as the dealer had when these were new) and I've also looked in Chevy truck ID numbers (crappy book) and the standard catalog of american light duty trucks.
There is no mention of kick panel carpeting nor door carpeting.

I have a 1970 chevrolet truck flyer that shows all the different truck available. It also shows three different CST interior packages.
There is only one level of CST, one level of Cheyenne, one level of Cheyenne super...these packages had certian options and nothing more, nothing less.
You could have the CST package, and add bucket seats and console...which added carpeting that covers the fuel tank...but that's about the only thing inside to make it nicer that can be added. (guages, radio, a/c...that's about it)
*forgot to mention you could add hounds tooth seat covers in 71/72*

I have a dealers catalog for 71 Chevy. Nothing in there about carpet for the kick panels or doors. My belief is it's pretty complete as it lists all the RPO codes and a bunch of dealer install options.

Longhorn was right

Longhorn

You were correct. I checked the old brochures with the different CST interior styles. The one with bucket seats shows the carpet over the tank but no carpet on the door bottoms or kick panels. The PO must have put that stuff on my truck. Thanks for the head up. I will not be putting that stuff back on.

Jason, in all reality, i think it is an ideal upgrade IMO. I plan on doing this myself. It'll help hide the holes I plan on cutting in my doors too.

however, for originality, you'll need to skip them.
