WTB Turbo 350 Adapter Plate for NP205
Wanted to Buy, a stock Turbo 350 adapter plate for an NP205 transfer case. Need one thats not cracked or broken.
Might even consider an entire TH350 transfer case if its in excellent working condition and not too far away (shipping?) from PA. Can trade an excellent condition manual T/C for an automatic case if the situation allows. Thanks, 72longbed Last edited by 72longbed; 12-30-2004 at 01:48 AM. |

It's out of a 71 blazer. $250 for the trans and case (I'll include shift lever and boot and even pedals if you're doing a swap. It's supposed to be a good running truck (he used it as a wood buggy). I trust the guy. I've bought several vehicles from him (including another 71 blazer). I bought it for the motor for my 4wd (I decided to run a small block). The rest of it is pretty whipped. I'll be ripping into it starting this weekend as the boss doesn't approve of it sitting in front of the garage. Just let me know. Brian

Th350/ Np205
Brian,
Have you any way of verifying that the tranny and T/C are in good working order? I can't afford to have to rebuild either one at this time, thats why I'm specifically looking for a setup that either has been rebuilt recently or has very low miles. The last thing I want to do is go through all the trouble of installing them and find that one or both is "Blasted" when I go to fire up my fresh new project. If a "wood buggy" is what I think it is, (hauling firewood out of the woods), then these parts have had a rough life, especially for an auto trans. Not trying to be ungrateful, just want to know if its possible to talk to the PO about the condition of the parts before I make the purchase. I know that you have been a member on this board for a long time and I would trust your judgement if you prefer to get the condition info from the previous owner and share it with me. Thanks for your help, BTW where is Meadville, PA? I'm in 19525 zip. Phil aka 72longbed |

Phil, I just got it last night. I can try to get it running. I bashed the rear driveshaft last night getting it on the trailer. I think it will still drive. I'd need to get 4 different tires on it, battery and rig up a temp gas line or maybe I could just dump some gas in it. Guy swears it runs. I'd be a little leary about taking it up to speed though (to see if it shifts into second and third). It's a real hoop. I bought it off of a local wrecking yard. Some guy brought it in. The owner of the yard felt very comfortable about telling me that it ran/drove, but I do know how that stuff goes. If you're interested, I could try to get this thing going. Just let me know. I'm about 30 miles south of erie (16335). It stinks because 71cad10 was just up here last weekend getting some parts and he lives down by you. Let me know. Brian

Brian,
yes I would definitly need to know the 'running' condition of the drive line. A straight driveshaft will give you a much better idea of whats going on under there, (I wouldn't even attempt to evaluate driveline condition with a smashed shaft, too many vibrations). Knowing that its coming from a wrecking yard, I am pessimistic about the life left in those parts. Should be fairly easy to evaluate the function of the T/C if you get a straight driveshaft under there. Do what you can and let me know please, Phil |

Phil, I don't have a straight driveshaft to put back in. The only way I have to test it would be at low speed. It may be a longshot. I'm fairly picky about putting good stuff in my own vehicles, so if you plan on using it for a daily driver, this may be a bad idea. It might take me half a day to get the thing running only to find out it's bad. What stinks is I had a nice rebuilt unit I sold to a board member last year. Oh well. I'll try to call around and see if any of my buddies may have a good set-up they would want to part with. Brian
