I figured out that the driveshaft would have to be shortened if I use the bigger tranny that came with the 327 - even if I move the tranny crossmember.

Like you said, I think I can use the tranny for the I6 since it already fits with the driveshaft and crossmember. But I'm wondering if it can handle the bigger engine? The 327 is all stock, and I'm just using it as a daily driver - not a hot rod.

So do you think the smaller tranny will hold up?
