I don't think so. Even with a 5" backspace,... I think it would rub the fenders. You can get them under the back with the correct B.S. I would stick with an 8" rim on the front.

here was the convo...

You asked:
"another question as the auction winds down, are you sure a 10" rim/wheel combo will clear the front steering radius without rubbing the inner fender wells, I don't mean to be a payne, but before I spend this amount of money I want to be totally sure, thanks..scott"

To answer your question, I acually have a 1984 gmc shortbed c1500. I did exact measurements for backspace before having the specially made. With a 10'' wde wheel and a 4.5 backspace fits perfecly under both fronts and back. I was going for a wide stance but not the sucked in look. You accually have a total of 4'' clearance front and back on the froinbt of the fender well. So is you ever decide to go to a bigger tire you can. Stock height for 74 through 86 is 26.8 inches tall. The tires on the wheels are 27.4 tall. Please respond soon thanks and enjoy......

.....

here is what the auction says...

You are bidding on 4 brand new 17' boyd coddington wheels and tires. These wheels have never been on the ground. These wheels are boyn coddington cast series. The tires are 275-55-17 dunlop 9000's. The price as payed were $1758.00. These wheels are 17x10 5-5 and will fit on any 5 lug chevy truck. They were specially built with a 4.5 and 5. back space perfect fit inside wheel well. Hate to let them go but project truck canceled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ENJOY.

17x9.5 with 275/40/17 front and 285 rear and 5/7 drop

the fronts had alot of backspace as you can tell by the pics and i used an adapter to center them but i can't remember what the total backspace was. i think you could do it depending on what tire you go with but you'll have to have the backspace perfect

i didn't see your post before i made mine, those wheels and tires are gonna rub on a 4/6. not enough backspace and too tall of a tire. and i don't know what he is talking about factory tire height being 26.xx inches, thats way off, i would pass on them

I have 17x9½ on the front, with a 5½" BS and with a 5" (really probably 4") it doesn't rub, only when I make an extreme right turn, and I'm going to look into why that is...
