Late model stepside bed on a '73/'87 ?
Anyone ever seen a late (1988-90's) stepside bed on one of our trucks. I've seen it done on '67/'72 models. Just wondered how it would look on a '77. Also how much trouble it would be. I would appreciate pictures if you have them. Thanks.

This just don't work. The squared lines of the 73-87 body and the rounded smooth later model bed are too different.

This guy had the right idea to make it a successful conversion. If he had taken it a bit further it would really look good. He shaved the step behind the fender which really cleans the bed up. He also pulled the front step in to match the cab contour better. If he had only gone one step further and shaved the body line at the top of the bed I think it would look work...

I don't think it's totally fugly, but it does look "off". I think N2 is right,if he had lost the upper body line it would bring the truck "together" much better. Both trucks are rather plain, so if he had used the ribbed lower belt molding, it would have simulated a lower body line to bring the step into the cab... Definitely better than rust.....
