Coast Guard annual training all day Sat. Fox45 News was there, a pleasant surprise and welcome recognition.

Sunday: repaired the kitchen counter end cap that's been busted since I bought the house six years ago. Washed the Jeep (in preparation for snow, I know- ha!). I HAD to get last week's salt off though. Those teenage years I spent in the Midwest have scarred me for life regarding rust.

Got my truck to pass inspection (new brake line) and got it licensed! WOOHOO

This has been such a chore, I am glad it is done for now.

I also painted my kitchen.

They were absolutely phenominal in concert. One of the best shows I've seen in a while. HWM is badass too...they are from here in Gainesville and are starting to catch on outside of Florida.

JonBoy,
Are those Centerline Stingray III's? If so, those are BAD! Are they really light? (Like they advertise)

the wheels are pretty light, but the tires take care of that. They are the Stingray III's, 20x8 with a 275/55R20 Eagle LS on them.

Fixed the cabin water leaks, new seal (homemade) on the kickpanel air door and found another leak near the fusebox, the insulating stuff held water like a sponge and rusted the firewall in no time. Found 2 little rustholes (damnit, the cab was rust free) I had to weld shut. I also took the e brake pedal , hood props, latch and hook to the local galvaniser to have them zinc plated and yellow normalised. Turned out super

The latch is the same yellow/gold but the pic is too fuzzy to post

The tire has a good 50 000 kms left on it, so there is no point in tossing it if just needs a can of fix a flat once every couple of months.

If their a good tire co they will replace it . But I have to tell ya Fix a flat is for leaks in the tread . The way it works is to pump by can in to tire and drive it for 15 mins or so and the gravity slings the crap to the center of the tire and working its way out and pluging the hole for a short time till you get to a repair place.

I cheated on the door handles. You can get them in color for about $35 each. The tailgate handle will have to be painted. I am not sure, because it matches the black textured stuff on the top of the bed. The side rails have to stay because the top of the bed is not finished, similar to the Ford trucks.

I didn't realize GM had gone to that too on the bed caps. Just shave the tailgate handle and spoiler then put a snug lid on it. That will clean it up..
