what year for 5 lug?
my friend just bought a 71 SWB with a 69 chassis and it has a bunch of stuff done to it alredy, including 5 lug axle, and front spindles. i was just curioous if someone converte it or if any 71's had 5 lug.

67-70 1/2 ton 2wd 6 lug front drum. 71-72 1/2 ton 2wd 5 lug front disc

yep, all GM trucks after 70 had disc brakes up front.
In all reality though...your friends truck was converted. If it is a 69 chassis, then it came with drums...  Confused? |

69 chassis is what he was told... so maybe it isnt?
i do know the cab is not original though. where do you look on the frame to see what the date is? |

Actually, I was adding to your responce. You only spoke of 5 and 6 lug and 1/2 ton trucks, I expanded it to all trucks...which was a bit inacurate....it should have said all 10 - 30 series trucks.
I also added about the fact that since his frame is a 69, it had in fact been chainged over, so there is no telling what year componentes are bolted up under there. |
