It is kind of a shame. I remember when this was originally posted last year there was a whole bunch of people saying "I will be there" Then when it comes to crunch time they are all in the woodwork That is why I refrain from getting wrapped up in the moment when something like this is posted. Some board members went to great effort to put this together for all those guys who said they would go. I wish that post from last year was still around to see who was jumping on the band wagon I am hoping I can go, but I kind of doubt it. And no, I did not say I would go in last years post

Hey ROBBY,

You mentioned Baptist Camp, that is, if my fading memory serves me right, on the Big Piney River isn't it ?
At any rate, count me in, I may be "free-wheeling" it as far as a camp site, as I have Family just a few miles down the round, but cout me in on teh float, and some serious B.S. ing !!
May bring the Jimmy, if not, are newer Dodges allowed !!

See all there !

Newbie here, so i just saw this post. Wish I could go but my better half is having her class reunion in Paducah, Ky. that weekend.

Like some of the others here, I grew up there too (Salem,,,SHS Class of '77). Took my dad's '70 down to Flyin' W (a swimmin' hole down from Cedar Grove) one Sunday afternoon and got it stuck on a sandbar. Some guy pulled me out (don't remember what he drove) As a thanks i asked if he'd like a piece of watermelon we had coolin' in the river (just happenend to be spiked with Everclear) He said that was the best piece of watermelon he ever tasted!!!!!!!

Sorry about the rambling,,,,,but whoever can make this trip should!!!!!! It is one of the most natural streams left. Went flaotin' 2 years ago with the family and had a GREAT time. If ya don't think you can handle a canoe,,,get a tube,,,,they rent them too and thats what my 13 and 11 year olds did,,,,,,they had a great time!!!!

Let me know if y'all need any help (my parents still live in Salem)

LIke I said at the beginning, I didn't think Uncle Sam was going to let me go, and I was right. Sure wish I could though. Its been at least 15 years since I was on a float trip. Last one was right where you guys are going to be going though. Its a great place to go and I know you guys will have a great time. Everyone ante up and show if you can. You won't be sorry. Have fun, Jeff.

I'm still trying to scrape the $$ together, and also still trying to get the time off from work.
I can't gurantee anything, and would hate to have a reservation made on my behalf becouse of this. However, I can bring some 4 and 5 man tents and anyone else who shows up like I am (hoping) can bunk up with one another?
Just an idea.

I said I would be there a few months ago and had every intention of going. However; due to some military engagements my departure date from Japan was pushed back a few weeks and my family and I won't get to Oklahoma until late June. Thus not affording me the time to get my family set up and then get to the float trip. Sorry about that but I didn't know this stuff was going to happen.

I can't believe there aren't more people going. If i wasn't 2000 miles away I'd be in. Never been in a canoe, but it sounds like a blast! Olady even thinks so!

Any chance this could be an annual event? I'll be moved to Indiana by this time next year.

I'm near San Francisco right now, and havig a great time. I'm sorry that i can't be there, but this trip i am on was a really good oprotunity.

Was this anywhere near Shannondale. I know a bunch of people from around here always go down there once or twice during the summer.
