Question WTB old school brush gaurd for 72 K5

I'm looking for one of the chrome bent pipe
brush gaurds. Dealer instaled item (back
in the day). I have seen two on pickups
in the past couple of months one was made
by a company right here in Fort Worth and
one was made in Waco Tx.

Any one have a pic of one of these?

Thanks,
Joe

Grille Guard

I had a guy in my shop last week that has one off a 72.
He said he wanted $250 price range....
Would have to be super nice - I have not seen it yet.
Sounded kinda high $ wise...?
Thanks, Larry

Larry,

Whats the correct name to call thoes things.
If he comes back and It looks extra good and
it's the one made in Ft Worth TX. I would be real
interested. Maybe he would come down on that
250.00.I had a rollbar shipped by greyhound for
55.65. 250.00 including shipping might be ok but
it has to be Extra Good and made in Ft Worth.

Thanks for your help.

I have a painted one that I believe is a dealer accessory. I can get some pics of it. It bolts together and fits the 67-72 bumper perfectly. I took it off a 72.
$75.00 plus shipping.

I had one for sale forever. It wasn't chrome though. One of the painted steel ones you see around. It was original to the '72 truck that it came from. I posted it a few times on the board and I couldn't get any interest. I finally put it on ebay and I think it went for $75. It cost the buyer $65 to ship it via Greyhound. It was a heavy one.

Here are some pics. Anyone know if it is a GM accessory or just some aftermarket item?

I think there were several aftermarket/dealer installed grill guards. I had one on my first K5. It looked similar to the one above, but all the bars were the flat metal and it didn't have connection points in the corners. I don't know if it was dealer installed or aftermarket because it was before this board and I didn't know anything prior to finding this board.

The one I'm looking for is made of small
chromed bent tubeing with the manufactur's
name in small letters on a thing in the middle.
Ive seen 2 around one made in Waco and
one made in Waco and one made in Fort Worth.
Looks like something the dealer would add on
back in 1972.
