Lower control arms , tubular . anyone make them? Double hump Crossmembers??
It appears that no one(company) is listing tubular control arms for our trucks anymore???? is that right? all I can find is the ones for air bags now. I want standard or lowering type. thanx for ANY help .
Is the guy from the forum still making the double hump cross members or does anyone have one. Did they work out ? DAVE

Dave, DJM makes upper and lower control arms.
http://www.djmsuspension.com/Product...y/C10Parts.htm I don't think anyone is making the double hump tranny crossmembers, but it is on my list.

Tubular arms won't take the beating if you hit something on the road. Then you have to buy two again too.
I have one of the custom made double hump crossmembers. I have yet to install it. Have big plans for the summer though. |

ALSO with a lowered control arm Only the coil spring saddle sits down close to the road. NOT the whole A-arm. my truck currently has drop springs & spindles and is too damn low for me. Since I PLAN to race & drive the truck the weight MAY come into play. I'll have to see what they cost first. I bought a set years ago and we couldn't even get the the poly bushings to fit into them right. I need new lowers and I ran a WTB ad here on the forums but no one answered my call. local boneyard wants $50ea. -screw them! I've scrapped 6-7 good sets before but now that i want some ---- I may just redo a set of stockers. not sure yet. at least I got this friggin thing running anyway. Don't let the wind out of my sails yet I just got the ship off the sandbar where it has been sitting for a year to me. DAVE

Jeremy , I'm a little up in the air on that statement and don't want to argue either way but I can say that i don't think the tubular arm itself would half of beating the previous owner(Mr.A-hole as I like to call him) of my truck put the lower A arms through. Now thats talking frontal impact. Tubular A arms in general are VERY strong by design because of the triangulation and round tubing.
Hey Chris I Emailed you with a question but do not know if I have your current email addy so drop me at a line at my good ,old ,slow all4trux@snip.net if you don't get something from me today , thanx , DAVE

Dave, i can see your point. i completely forgot about the spring bucket being lowered and exposed the way they are. seems kind of stupid to do it that way, just run a shorter spring and be done with it, instead they leave the spring bucket exposed and vulnerable. the last few sets of tubular LCAs i've seen were hand built, and were specifically built for light weight and improved strength, they didnt lower the vehicle at all.

Me Too
I was looking for Tubular A arms because I thought they were supposed to be stronger than the OEM stamped versions.
I have had no luck in finding any that were made for standard height, I don't want to lower or raise my truck, I just want a stronger A arm that doesn't bend so easily when I slide in that logging road ditch. If anyone has a source please post it, the link listed above has only 3" drop parts. Thanks

slonaker ,you beat me to that answer :-( , and any guy nick-named HACKSAW ought to be able to pull that off. I can't imagine anything short of tank parts that would be stronger than the stock ones if they hade a sort of flat skid plate welded across the bottoms , allow room for shocks though :-) .
maybe NOT drinking/driving on logging roads is a quicker answer. juskiddin DAVE
