Trailing arm crossmember f/s
I've never seen one of these here for sale, if anyone wants to convert to rear coil springs you'll need this.

king - that is a great start, you'll also need to pick up a set of trailing arms and a coil spring rear end.

you could have some one weld them but it could and probably will track skewed down the road unless they are welded on a jig.

Coil Conversion
You'll also need the crossmember where the panhard bar mount is.

kingsolver72, you will need that crossmember and that will be the hardest part to get. You can get trailing arms pretty easily and as far as the crossmember in the back, it's nothing special. Some square tubing or plate would get the job done also. As far as the bracket for the panhard rod I may have one or I'm sure someone can find one. Or just make your own adjustable set up. And lastly I may know where you could get a trailing arm rear or if you want to use another rear (I'm using a 8.8) I know where you could get the brackets welded by a company that used do a lot of dirt/Busch/Nascar rears and has a jig. He will probably end up cuting the tubes off and welding them back on as even with a jig it will warp but their prices are good and reputation is great. I should be taking mine to him in about two months and will be taking a empty stock rear end. Shipping may not be too bad to send him a empty rear or get a stock empty rear sent to you if you can't find one local.

The holes for bolting or riveting in the crossmember should be in your frame as well as the coil spring plate holes and panhard bar mount holes. It is a pretty easy swap with the bed off. The last one i did i think there were only 2 holes i had to drill for the plates. I used rivets instead of bolts.

Yup they are the same, you will just have to hack off that hanger bearing bracket.

Randy-
From the look of all your projects and completed rods looks like you'd know all about 2wd front suspensions. I'm looking to convert the front leafs and axle out for a 2wd front end.........figure i'll just buy a whole front clip. The old stuff is hard to find in New England.....how new can i go? Cant weld, so di you know what bolts on? Is a 95 2wd front suspension likely to work? Thanks, Gordon |

Thanks bud, I totally missed your question yesterday, I believe that you can go all the way into the early 80's, you'll have to ask on the suspension board because I'm not 100% sure.
