Like to install light switches on doors
I have a 67 C10 shortbed. Just got the dome light to work off the light switch. Now like to add some door switches, so I would have some light when I open the doors.
I found a 77 blazer and took the switches out of it. They were kind of beat and the doors on that truck had threads threaded right into the door. I can tap my doors and get these to work. Then thought there must be somone that makes an aftermarket kit for this. Like to use some new parts instead of going through the work to use older stuff. Does anyone know of any?? Thanks... ChevyDuty carries the door jamb switches (#53-611) for $3.00/ea and the cargo light wiring harness(#52-754) for $13.00.
You'd still have to tap the door jambs for the swithches.

You tap the jams for the door switches, then drill a hole in the upper part of the kick pannel to get the wire to the switch. Then I believe you wire the switches in with the ground wire to the dome light.

You may have problems being that '67 and 68 did not have the raised portion for the switch in the jamb.

The white wire is the one you want to splice into for your dome light, it is the ground. The orange is the positive, which it gets all the time. The dome works by interupting the ground- white wire.
I bought a alarm kit and the door switches came with it, plus delay dome and lots of other neet stuff.
