My '86 has no noticeable lean regardless of what tank is full or empty. I use both tanks. I vote for the "something is wrong with your suspension and you need to fix the problem rather than the symptom" option.
Slonaker EDIT: Just for grins, have you checked the tire sizes? I once bought tires at Pep Boys and they put two of one size on the left and two of another size on the right. They were only off by one size, so the difference was not notieable, but it made it lean noticeably. I also had a place put 3 of one size and a fourth of a different size on a car.
