Re: WOW, I wonder where Golddigger went..
I purchased the truck on ebay, pictures do not do it justice, the wheels are one of boyds just for the truck, the suspension is all sprint car torsion bar, with a vette rear and a dropped front axle with a 4 bar set up,the billet alum steering wheel and comumn were the first ever made, there is so much custom work done most of it is not even noticed, the insides of the fenders, hood, floor board etc..are all smoothed out painted and wet sanded, the truck was never really driven on the street it was purpose built to win the tops in the ISCA,which it did,in 1987 it was the first truck to ever win the grand championship, there was over 80,000 invested in it in 1987,but the best part is that it is now a running drivable truck.

Re: WOW, I wonder where Golddigger went..
I know I am dragging this out of the archives but I did finally go through some of my old magazines. Here is a picture of Golddigger circa 1990 In Chevy Trucks magazine. I am looking for the feature it had in Truckin' from May of 1988 also...

Re: WOW, I wonder where Golddigger went..
I remember seeing it in seattle at a ISCA show that thing was crazy for the time
I do remember it won almost every show it was at. it was also the first truck to win best over all (I think) at the end of the show season for the ISCA and in the early 90's if you were winning in the ISCA your car/truck was the nicest and the best across the US

Re: WOW, I wonder where Golddigger went..
Jesus Christ am I glad that era has come and gone. Don't get me wrong, it is definitely a cool piece of history that has been revived, and the truck now looks much better.

Re: WOW, I wonder where Golddigger went..
congrats on the new truck, a real piece of rodding history,,, funny the young kids think it needs help, 37 inch tires and scrape the ground... do they know that 30 years from now their babies will draw the same response? i remember gold digger, then like now i had little love for show only rides.. i like the old school paint on that one, wish you had the 500 or so trophies that truck won..
drive it with care, and always smile.. how hard does that baby come off the line? |

Re: WOW, I wonder where Golddigger went..
Pig Rig, In 1988 it was the first truck in 20 years to capture the ISCA's International Grand Champion honors.

Re: WOW, I wonder where Golddigger went..
Yep. It was @ the GG's Ft. Worth Fall show recently. It still has the same Blue/White paint w/the original scheme but appears to not really have been kept up very well @ some point in its journey.
