At today's gas prices it could mean "Dig Deep" when you fill up.

I think DD was the code for the optional air bags. These days they are more likely to be optional silicone bags.

You have a "Napco" conversion that used the GM corporate differential. The parts for the outer ends are hard and expensive to find.

I'm pretty sure it was GM factory designation. I've got the original GM shop manuals from that year. The DD's have "DD" stamped on door piller VIN plate. Brake parts where unique to that year (and wore out quick w/2.5" drums). The front ends
where more odd ball, open spindle with drum brakes, which was also unique to that year.

Has the standard GM 12 bolt in it. PO already converted it to power disc front.

Of note, I believe this truck to have been special ordered for the Air Force - 250 6 cylinder, 4 speed, AM radio, and factory A/C.

I received the truck with a "quick coat" of primer, when I scuffed the front of the hood, there was lettering along the front - just like the Air Force used. Truck was purchased from the San Francisco, CA area.

I am supprised the Air Forse put in A/C and a radio. Must have been a high up ranking who drove it. I know most of the Arny was basic truck.
