Coil spring spring pads for a 71 C10
Ok, so I am dropping a Ford 9" in my C10. Where can I get the spring pads for a rear coil set up without ripping apart a good 10B?

the pads for mounting a rear on the trailing arms are easy enough to make //1/4steel plate, hole saw, cutoff wheel ,drill, and a welder is about all you need to do the job

I don't think I could get the proper three dimensions required.
I could make them out of box tube, but I figured it would be easy enough to buy the axle mount if already offered. Getting the angle for the trailing arms right would not be easy. |

not to jack the purpose of this thread but i have often wonder about the 9" conversion and was wondering what you guys did for axles? or do you just buy wheels that work on the ford axles? Also how to modify it work with the coil suspension.

I made 5 on 5" axles shafts to fit the stock Chevy (re-drilled the Ford F150 after welding it shut). I am using Lou Fegers weld on caliper brackets and chevy half ton front rotors. I may use El Dorado calipers, but I really hate those, so I am looking for another integral ebrake caliper.
If you look at the chevy coil rear, it's mostly the spring pad that does the work. That's what I am looking for. There's a ubolt that goes through the spring pad and anchors the axle to the trailing arm. The spring pad is angled, the ubolt isn't, so it's more of a puzzle than I really want to get into. I could cut them off of a 10B I have but then I ruin a 10B. Last edited by FormerMember; 09-08-2005 at 12:38 PM. |

what about the panhard bar?
and you should just find a 10b in a salvage yard that they will chop up for you. Lots of the yards around here won't even sell them unless you just want the housing because they don't want to warranty them

I have a drop kit that relocated the pan hard bar to a bracket that bolts to the spring pad...
