I decided on the Seamark waterproof with vinyl in Black. I am trying to figure out how to mount the snaps where I can remove them when the hard top comes back on. Snaps will be installed for about 6 months, hard top will be on remaining 6 months, so I don't mind doing it. I have no aspiration to get a Fastrack top and I don't mind the snaps- my truck is FAR from original at this point.
Tony contacted me, said I will have about a 2 week lead time on delivery. Can't wait! Final measurements on the roll bar, and the order goes out tomorrow.

I've got the old Kayline soft top with the snaps all along the windshield frame. I've used the same snaps for my bikini top. The snap studs just screw in so it's no big deal to unscrew them, squirt a little silicone in the hole to seal it up, and drop the hard top back on. Been doing it for 10 years without problem.

Is TonyP's contact information still the same as it is in the order form? Now that the cage is finally done in mine I'm ready to order a bikini top.

Joe, here are 4 pics with the bikini on. I used 17 snaps across the windsheild spaced 4" apart, center to center. I started from the center and worked my way out to the sides. The last snaps at the end, by the doors, are less than 4" spacing, but that is OK because you want it nice and tight there so the wind can't pull it up easily. I went to the STC site and read, and re-read and re-read, the instructions for mounting. The male snaps are screwed into the rain gutter in front of the windshield so they are not into the frame itself. I was afraid to drill into the frame thinking it might leak when the hardtop is on. And I don't think I'll have to remove the snaps before replacing the hardtop, I haven't tried it yet, only theory. This is also where the STC instruction tell you to drill, (my interpretation). I chose to go with snaps because either way you have to drill holes and with the fastrack you need to buy the channel and remove it when your hardtop goes on. Personal choice here. Anyway hope the pics help.

When you have the top off, can you shoot a few pics of the top of the windshield frame so we can see the snaps.
My bikini top is still sitting in the box from when I bought it - no use getting it out until the K5 is driveable.

Joe, If I remember correctly it is the Sinbrella waterproof canvas.
Yukon, I'd be happy too but it could be awhile and you may need to remind me. Right now I've got a leak somewhere in my pond and need to fix it before my fish dry up. That sucker is hard to find, been at it a week already, hope I don't end digging out the entire thing.

I agree, almost make me want to get one!, I have no need for a soft top here, but it would be nice to have something you could keep folded up in the bottom of the old center console in case of an emergency, say like scattered showers.
